AboutThis is a community for fiction-kin. That means people who identify in some way with a fictional character - past life, co-location, deep empathy, introjection, or something else.
This is not the place to moan about how horrible your current life is, or to post your angsty poetry. This is not the place to whine that you are being oppressed. This is not the place to cause or wallow in drama. This is a place for actual discussion.
We're not here to pat you on the back and tell how mean people are for not believing that you're Voldemort (or whoever), or to coddle you or validate your belief system. Nor are we here to play identity police; we can't tell you who you are or aren't.
We're not here to save the world, or to destroy it. Even if we had super-magic special powers and/or plans for world domination, we wouldn't talk about them here.
We are here to debate, to ask questions, to share stories, to snark ourselves and the bad fanfic that we just read, and to discuss what it means to us to be fiction-kin. Courteous disagreement is allowed - nay, welcomed. You are not required to be 'nice'. You are, however, required to be polite. "Could you explain this further, it doesn't seem to make sense to me" is fine; "OMG YOU CAN'T BE RAINBOW BRITE YOU LOSER p.s. I'm Jem" is, obviously, not.
This community has moderated membership. Very moderated membership. If someone else in the community can't vouch for you, you can contact the moderator and tell him why you want to get in, but that's no guarantee. This is not because we hate you. This is because self-selected membership is the only way to fully avoid trolls and drama. If you don't like it, make your own community - or join one of the already extant ones.
